Rockford Socks, Brown
There’s more than just a passing distinction to Sock Monkeys from these particular socks. These are definitely Sock Monkey material. I can see three, four, five different types of possible Sock Monkey styles and iterations – and guess what else, before they’re Sock Monkeys? You get to use them as socks!
Fox River Mills
Sometimes a product comes along that, perhaps against the odds, transcends its humble intentions and cements a place for itself in the cultural landscape. The original red heel socks are that product. From its humble, Depression-era beginnings to virtually iconic status, the sock monkey is now a familiar image in the modern landscape. Originally made by Nelson Knitting, out of Rockford Illinois, these mid-weight socks are now produced by the esteemed Fox River Mills. Perfect for daily wear, they add a little flare when the shoes come off.

Stussy Eye Gear Spring 2012 Collection
After a period of semi-obscurity Stussy is stronger than ever as a business. The company has strong fundamentals and believes in a design first philosophy, allowing them to flirt with us stylistically. The Spring 2012 Collection is no slouch. There is not standout here for me, aside perhaps from the Lester set, otherwise the collection as a whole is very strong as each individual piece can stand on it’s own as a quality piece of eye gear.
These fresh frames are a remix of some classic shapes along with modern versions of Stussy shades from the past. All frames are hand-built using some of the best materials available. The plastic frames are constructed from sheets of high quality cellulose acetate, a material that gives the frames a nice weight and buttery feel along with some rich color options. The metal frames are made from a three metal blend which makes them nice and burly but still maintains a lighter weight and smooth finish. All Stussy sunglasses are fitted with high optical clarity CR-39 lenses which offer 100% UVA/UVB protection, shatter resistance and a light weight. Check ‘em out and bust your own groove!!!

Diving Helmet Ice Bucket
The closest I’ve been to deep sea diving is snorkeling in the Bahamas off a small reef, with a noodle. The closest I’ve been to being drunk and hanging out with a deep seas diver is writing this post. All in all, an exciting life. Definitely more exciting now that the the possibility of owning an antique deep sea diving helmet that also chills your favourite aperitif is a glaringly staring us both in the face. What do we do?

Luke Lamp Co
Another brilliant Etsy project that has brought the artisan a return enough to continue on with his craft, I really appreciate Etsy for making that happen for people. Luke Lamp Co is one man show run by Luke Kelly from Mamaroneck, New York, United States. The hardcore looking light design makes extensive use of rope and an industrial motif that gives off an edgy appeal. We like it. Everything is made to order.

Hard Graft Wallets and Phone Cases
I indulge in a new wallet on an annual basis, I believe once a wallet has been used for a year it’s lost whatever mojo it once had and should be replaced. Not unlike how Newt Gingrich feels about marriage – heyoo! And so I hunt. I hunt for quality products like the kind the fine folks at Hard Graft produce.
Recently, I’ve become more and more smitten by the idea of a phone/wallet. A wallet that carries my important items and doubles as protection for my phone while I’m out and about. I’m in favor of this idea as I tend to dislike bulky cases on my phone 24/7. This gives me the ability to remove my phone from the wallet, yet the wallet still has purpose even without the phone. Form, meet function.
In addition, instead of my ass looking like it has a bulky tumor while my wallet is carried in my back pocket, my wallet items and phone now reside within an inside pocket of my coat – making it look like I might be packing, and I just might. Separation of coat and person is inevitable at times, I’ve not come up with a better solution other than to move said wallet from coat to pants pocket while removing coat. That being said, while in the past I’ve stayed with wallet for my yearly endeavour, I think it’s high time I made a shift and added the phone benefits to the wallet purchase equation – which now balances in the direction of, yes, definitely buy phone/wallet.

Lamps by Oligo – Mademoiselle Filou – Fly Lamps
That buzzing? That’s not a fly – that’s electricity! In the shape of a fly! I keep reading “fly lamps” in the title of the post and repeating in my head, “yeah, they are really fly lamps…” and then inner-chuckling to myself, I don’t know why, it hasn’t been funny for a least a minute or two now. They are though, ya know, pretty … fly lamps.

Matthew Cuff Beanie II – Stussy
Help your friends find you in emergency situations, with the Matthew Cuff Beanie II. Seriously, it may not be listed on the pamphlet for this item, but we certainly aren’t going to lose you when you’re wearing it. That can only be good thing, for the most part anyway. There’s also a pom-pom, and god willin and the creek don’t rise, you’ll get yourself a cable-knit beanie with a gosh-darn pom-pom on it at some point this winter season. You deserve one, I reckon.

The U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) and Oakley, Inc. today announced the release of the Team USA® eyewear collection. These special renditions of acclaimed Oakley eyewear let customers share the excitement of the Olympic Games, as well as the innovations that Olympic and Paralympic athletes rely on to perform at their best.
”Oakley is a true partner to Team USA, creating products that aid in the performance of our athletes in competition and supporting our mission of developing our current and future Olympians and Paralympians,” said USOC Managing Director of Consumer Products Peter Zeytoonjian. “We are excited about the Team USA product line and look forward to working with Oakley through the London Games and beyond.”
The Team USA eyewear collection includes four men’s sunglass designs (one of which is available in two renditions) and two women’s designs. Each of the special editions is highlighted with United States Olympic Team colors, and the Team USA mark is laser etched at the corner of the lens. The collection will be available at Oakley.com and through the company’s domestic distribution channels. In addition, the U.S. Olympic Committee will sell the products online via TeamUSAShop.com and through storefronts at its training centers.
“We are proud to be the official licensee and eyewear supplier to Team USA and the USOC for the London 2012 Olympic Games and years to come,” said Scott Bowers, Oakley’s Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Brand Development. “This unique collection lets customers support and share the pride of Team USA, and it features the same advanced technologies that many Olympic and Paralympic athletes depend on for the most important performances of their careers.”
The first-ever performance-based eyewear supplier to Team USA, Oakley owns licensing rights for protective, active, lifestyle and corrective eyewear including glasses, sunglasses, goggles, and associated accessories. In addition to supplying product to the U.S. delegation at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a percentage of Team USA eyewear collection sales will support the training of U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes and hopefuls.
A single-lens sport shield that has redefined performance and protection, Oakley Radar® sunglasses will be available in two Team USA SKUs. As with all offerings in the special collection, the frames are matched with premium performance lens tints that complement their coloration. The interchangeable dual-lens sport sunglasses known as Jawbone and Flak Jacket® are part of the collection, as is the popular lifestyle design called Fuel Cell™.
The women’s collection will launch in early 2012 and will include the Team USA Commit™, a sport favorite that lets athletes adapt to their environment with an interchangeable lens design. Also featured is the Team USA Miss Conduct™, an active lifestyle sunglass with gradient tinting for its rimless toric lens.
Many Olympic athletes rely on Oakley performance eyewear for optical clarity, uncompromising protection and superior comfort. Oakley has engineered a full array of premium lens tints that adapt vision and maximize performance for any environment, and the company’s patented lens technologies offer the performance edge of High Definition Optics® (HDO®). Oakley eyewear offers superior visual fidelity for true, accurate vision that improves concentration and mental focus, reduces eyestrain and squinting, and enhances relaxation by reducing wind exposure and filtering out harsh glare. Olympic athletes can also depend on the company’s impact protection and 100% UV filtering.
In addition to offering the optical clarity, precision and protection of High Definition Optics® (HDO®), Oakley eyewear gives Olympians critical performance advantages by reducing eyestrain and squinting while improving concentration and relaxation to help maintain mental focus.

Vintage Shotgun Shells
From the woodlands supply company comes these vintage shotgun shells, or perhaps a more apt description would be, decorative art pieces to accent your modern, sensible decor that are also vintage shotgun shells. Yes, that does spark a touch more doesn’t it? Regardless, much the same as I wish AK47′s could be purchased online, these shotgun shells are sold in person only. What a shame.
